Everyone has experience in their life being hypnotized, whether or not they have realized it. Every time you watch television, you enter into a hypnotic state similar to hypnosis. Any time you get lost on the internet, social media, or a video game; you are in hypnosis. When you are driving, and you miss your turn because you are lost in thought or blanking out, you are in hypnosis. Every person starts the day with a certain amount of external stimuli that they can handle, before they build up too much Adenosine and enter into a hypnotic state. This is why when you are stressed and overloaded you may enter into a hypnotic state in your daily life. The reason for this is your body and mind have taken as much as it can handle before needing an escape into hypnosis. Even during sleep each night, we all enter into what is called the Hypnagogic stage of sleep. This is between rest and waking and is often the time where we are most likely to remember our dreams. The main difference between the daily hypnosis we all enter and hypnotherapy, is that hypnotherapy is voluntary for self-improvement. The other hypnosis comes from being overloaded.

No! In fact, by making the decision to undergo hypnosis, you are in control from the moment you make that decision and all the way through each and every session. You retain control over your mind and will have awareness of what is happening throughout each session. The suggestions used are created for your mind to accept OR reject. That is why I tailor make each suggestion to what your subconscious mind will accept.
Most clients are able to remember the entire session, where there are some clients who may forget parts. I offer to record sessions and provide the audio to help clients when they are at home. This can help fill in the gaps as well as strengthen the effects of the hypnosis. I also can use suggestions for a client to remember everything that occurs during a session.
Every individual is unique, and it varies from one person to another. It also depends on the what the client is being seen for. Some individuals can resolve an issue or make significant progress in a single session. Others may need several sessions or more for a goal or issue. Fears/phobias can often be resolved fairly quickly. Weight loss can take more time. Smoking cessation is scheduled as a 6-week program for example. Ultimately, the client has the ability to increase the speed of achieving their goals through showing up and putting in the effort in their daily life.
